Minimizing Food Waste with Smart Meal Planning
Waysteless is a revolutionary mobile application designed to help users create delicious, customized meals using ingredients they already have at home. Leveraging image recognition and AI, the app enables users to receive instant recipe recommendations while also managing their food inventory in real time. By tackling the global issue of food waste, Waysteless empowers individuals to make the most of their groceries while maintaining a sustainable lifestyle.
Transforming Kitchen Management with AI
The goal was to develop a user-friendly, intuitive native mobile app for iOS and Android, integrating OpenAI’s advanced data engine for recipe recommendations. Users could input ingredients via text or image uploads, and the AI would generate personalized meal suggestions. Additionally, the app would allow users to track their kitchen inventory, set dietary preferences, and access a history of saved recipes.

Codemap Agency was tasked with designing and developing the Waysteless MVP, focusing on core functionalities while ensuring a scalable architecture for future growth. Our structured approach included:
Feature Prioritization & UX/UI Design
We developed an intuitive user interface using Figma, ensuring a seamless user journey for food inventory management and recipe discovery. The onboarding process was designed to be streamlined, allowing users to effortlessly set their dietary preferences, restrictions, and favorite cuisines, making personalization simple and effective.
AI-Powered Recipe Generation & Inventory Syncing
By integrating OpenAI, we enabled the generation of three to five customized recipe options based on the ingredients available. Real-time inventory management was developed with both manual text entry and image recognition capabilities, ensuring accurate and efficient tracking. Additionally, we implemented a system to store recipe history, allowing users to easily access past meal suggestions and facilitate repeat meal planning.
Subscription Model & Monetization
To support a sustainable business model, we integrated RevenueCat, which allowed for a tiered subscription system. Free users were provided with a limited number of recipe generations per month, while premium subscribers gained access to additional features and unlimited recipe recommendations.
