Next-Generation Workplace Safety Training
SafeEngage is a next-generation digital platform designed to transform workplace safety training. With an extensive and continuously updated video library featuring over 10,000 safety videos, the platform ensures that employees and trainers always have access to the latest industry-specific content. SafeEngage enables users to share, save, and clip videos, allowing organizations to create customized training experiences tailored to their unique needs.
Developing a functional MVP in 45 Days
The goal of the project was to develop a functional Minimum Viable Product (MVP) within 45 days. This initial version would serve as a proof of concept, enabling early adopters to test the platform and provide critical feedback to refine its features. The primary challenge was to create an intuitive and scalable application that balanced core functionalities with ease of use while ensuring compliance with workplace safety regulations.
Our Approach
Agile Development and Structured Process
Codemap Agency adopted an agile, structured development process to ensure efficiency and rapid iteration. The project was divided into two development cycles to align with the tight timeline and evolving user needs.
Phase 1: Discovery, UI/UX, and Core Development
During the first build cycle, we initiated the project with a discovery phase, validating the platform’s scope and documenting the technical architecture. Using Trello for project management, we mapped out the foundational features and workflows before moving into UI/UX design. SafeEngage’s interface was designed to be clean and intuitive, ensuring a seamless experience for users.
Phase 2: Implementing Core Functionalities
We then proceeded with development in Bubble.io, implementing key functionalities such as secure authentication, a categorized video library with advanced search and filtering, and a training module builder that allowed trainers to curate custom training experiences. Additionally, we integrated basic analytics to track user engagement and built an email notification system using Bubble’s native email triggers, with plans for future SendGrid integration.
Iterative Refinement and Performance Optimization
Following an internal testing phase, we delivered the MVP to the SafeEngage team for additional debugging and early user feedback. The second development cycle focused on refining features based on insights from early adopters. We enhanced video categorization for better searchability, optimized user permissions to improve role-based content access, and refined the training module creation process. Performance optimizations were also carried out to address any bottlenecks. A final QA review ensured that the product was polished and ready for broader testing, and we assisted with deployment, allowing SafeEngage to launch on a dedicated domain for continued trials.
The Results
Successful MVP Delivery and Early Validation
SafeEngage successfully transitioned from concept to a fully functional MVP within the agreed timeline and budget. The platform met all defined objectives, enabling early users to engage with its content and validate the core business hypothesis. Trainers and employers provided positive feedback on the intuitive design and ease of creating custom training modules, reinforcing the platform’s value.
Scalability and Future Growth Opportunities
With a well-structured backend, the MVP laid the groundwork for future scalability, allowing for upcoming integrations such as external analytics tools and AI-driven content recommendations. Additionally, the launch confirmed market demand for a safety-focused video engagement platform, positioning SafeEngage for further development and investment.
